Open House is a neighborhood social hall designed for the community.
Recent studies have shown the dangerous decline of social connectedness and the effects of isolation on mental and emotional health.
Simply put, it’s not good to be alone.
The mission for the Open House is to fight this trend by creating a space for neighbors to gather and for friendships to form in the following ways:
The idea for the Open House was birthed out of the difficulty of 2020.
After many months of isolation, turmoil and strife, we felt the fabric of our community fraying. The epidemic of isolation, which had concerned psychologists and sociologists for years, was now a full blown crisis.
That’s when the idea for the Open House was born.
Based on the conviction that it’s not good to be alone and the belief that good things happen when people get together, a group of community-minded citizens banded together to create a space for our neighbors and friends.
We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive space where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to connect, learn, and grow.
We offer a range of programs and services designed to meet the needs of our diverse community, including a cafe to foster community connections, a children’s play area, and talks curated by One Church.
Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging and community pride, and to provide a place where everyone feels welcome and supported.
Whether you're looking to participate in a group activity, enjoy a cup of coffee in our cafe, or simply spend some time outdoors with family, we hope you'll visit us and experience all that The Open House has to offer.
